No kiss list Review

I just watched no kiss list on Netflix and I liked it so much that I wanted to write a blog post about it. What really stood out to me is that the characters in this movie have so much development in their character and personality whereby it really creates a bond between the audience and the characters, the movie really looks as if it's real because the characters are just so real. No kiss list is a drama, romance movie written by  Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer and directed by Kristin Hanggi. Naomi (Victoria justice) and Ely (Pierson Fode) have been best friends for years and they live in the same building. Ely and Naomi have a No Kiss List, a list of guys who they both should not kiss/date. Naomi starts to have a problem with helping her mother who is recovering from her divorce, but when Naomi needs Ely the most, he starts to hang out with other boys since he is in college and he starts to disappear. Naomi is very upset because she is trying to deny that she is in love with her gay best friend and she is even more upset because she feels as if Ely is replacing her with other boys. Naomi sees changes in Ely but she doesn’t want to accept it.

Ely is a gay best friend of Naomi and they just seem to have fun every day. The friendship of those two really showed to me that you should be comfortable with yourself and truly love yourself in order to create a bond with someone, whom will truly love you for who you are and whom you can share everything. The friendship of those two really showed the importance of friendship. It also shows that people change over time, but friendship will never change as long as you accept his/her changes, you will always love each other. There was also a beautiful scene between Naomi and her friend Robin. Naomi was very upset and cried in this scene and Robin saw that she was broken and Robin told her that it surprises her, that beautiful and confident girls like Naomi also can feel as crappy as the others. Naomi replies by saying sorry that she disappointed her and Robin says no, it makes you human.  It shows that it's ok to feel sad and broken from the inside sometimes, because human just do feel like that sometimes, therefore we are able to feel happiness. There is no happiness, without sadness.

Recently, I found out that this movie is inspired by a book, also called No Kiss List written by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. And I’m certainly going to read this book. I think that the character development in the book, will be even more well addressed to the audience because they can express their feelings through the writing style.

·         * Compliments to Victoria Justice and Pierson Fode, because they really acted very well.
